What is this liquid falling from the sky?!?

So it rained Friday!!!! Finally!!! Thank you, Lord!

Not to complain or anything-but the sky decided to open up during the football game...lovely. In case some of you don't know, the woodwind instruments (saxes, flutes, clarinets) can easily be totally ruined by rain-and if not that extreme it can cause hundreds of dollars of damage. Needless to say, everyone in the band was nervous.

For the first two quarters, there was just a few drops here and there---and then they detected lightning. So mass chaos erupted as the football teams, the band, and all of the fans evacuated the stadium at the same time. Ah-the joys of being a drum major. So that was the first "emergency" of the night. (P.S. the football game was cancelled in case anyone was wondering.)

As we were walking to the gym for shelter, one of the band students found out that her little brother had gotten into a fight with someone at the football game. The other kid slammed her brother into the ground and he couldn't move or breathe. Another emergency. But our band student couldn't leave with the ambulance since they only allowed one person to travel with them. So she was worried the rest of the night and that was slightly hectic. But I will commend my band-we all laid hands on Kelly in place of her brother and prayed for him. :) It was amazing. The whole band! We later found out that instead of the expected broken neck, he just has a few pulled ligaments and torn muscles. He'll be ok. God answers the prayers of His children!

Emergency #3: Another one of our band students is deathly afraid of thunderstorms. She has an anxiety attack and didn't have her inhaler with her. This was quickly solved however, when her mother came and picked her up. I still don't know how she is though: they took her to our local fire department who gave her something to basically knock her out until she got to the hospital.

And the last thing of the night was not an emergency-but it just added to all the rest of the chaos. Someone was playing our quad drums and the drum head split. It was crazy! It just tore-right down the middle. But that can be fixed easy with another head.

So all in all, it was a very interesting, hectic night!

And I took my ACT test this morning. It was easy! :D I can't wait to get my results back!

2 weeks in...

So, I'm pretty bad at keeping up with blogging. Well, school's going pretty good. I absolutely love my Anatomy class. Its so interesting how God worked everything perfectly out in our bodies so that everything works together when something goes wrong. He's just so amazing.

Speaking of God-He really really loves you. My friends and I are putting a group of people together to meet and talk about the deep things of God (you know, the things most churches and people-in general-are afraid to talk about---or just completely don't understand). I'm super pumped. Things like satan and demons. (ok yeah, not so much things of God.) But just knowing and accepting the fact that they are REAL! It's intense stuff! But OUR GOD IS SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL! He's so amazing and I love Him so much! So many people are praying for my generation and I'm seeing a group rise up from the normal way of life. They do not conform to this world, they live a godly, Christ-like life, and yes, they're persecuted for it. But Jesus said we would be!!!

Anyways, band is...interesting. This year is an advancing year (which means if we make a 1-the highest rating-at region, we move on to area). But the band isn't really...dedicated. We had practice on Labor Day-only half of the band showed up. So that's a little frustrating. But it is still fun and gradually getting better. :)
